About Our Italian Greyhounds
I began my dog show career here at Willowmere Kennel back in 1985 in Seattle, WA. Originally I had American Cocker Spaniels. I have shown a variety of different breeds for others as well as my own animals. I obtained my first Italian Greyhound (IG) from Donna Emmett, Anthony's Italian Greyhounds, in 1990. It has been a great foundation for my kennel and I continue the close relationship with Donna to this day. Up until 2005 I had bred and shown Italian Greyhounds and French Bulldogs. Now I have an occasional litter of Italians, but have not bred nor will be breeding French Bulldogs any longer.
My objective is to breed quality IG's here at Willowmere that adapt to the show ring as well as in the home. I strive for personality and showmanship with our animals. The intent is to compete at the local level as well as travel to our national specialty shows throughout the country. Occasionally you may have found me in Canada for competition and I have taken several trips to Puerto Rico competing in the dog show arena. Below are the Italian Greyhound Standards:

Though I do not breed very frequently I occasionally have puppies available for sale. Also, there may be older dogs available. Those that I have retired from showing or maybe they didn't like to show once started. These animals make wonderful companions. So don't hesitate to ask if there are older animals available. You will find, in many situations, the older animal will fit more easily into your life style then a young puppy with constant attention and supervision requirements. Though the older animal will want attention too, the supervision is less when it comes to the older animal.
Take time to thoroughly investigate the commitment you are about to make when purchasing a dog. This is a commitment for many years (12-15) and needs to have the whole family behind the decision. Then after your investigation and homework has been completed give me a call.
Those of you who may be interested in a ‘show’ animal there are limited show prospects available. I value my breeding program and will sell only my top animals to well established show homes with contractual agreements protecting the animal, purchaser and myself as the breeder.
